About Me

I am Shriphani Palakodety. I aspire to be a computer scientist and I idolize members of the MIT faculty, Donald Knuth and so on.
I like Python and as you can see, most of the posts on this blog contain Python snippets.
I dislike Perl as do most Pythonistas.
I was a participant at the Google Highly Open Participation Contest and I did 2 tasks -

• I wrote the Python on Unix document covering installation procedures on a few Unices.
• I did some artsy stuff for a 3D Game engine called PySoy

I created a User Request Management System in Django once and here it is http://code.google.com/p/urms

I love mathematics and my favorite topics are:

• Primality tests - Miller Rabin and AKS algorithms at the top of the list.
• Project Euler archives ( http://projecteuler.net )

I love filesystems and storage devices. I guess the love for these subjects stems from my first successful Linux debugging incident which involved Ubuntu’s libATA failing to work on my Acer Travelmate and screwing automount up. I wrote an automount script then and to this date, I have this absurd love for disk drives, filesystems and the like.

I suck at writing good, appealing essays and my college experience convinced me of my lackluster capabilities to impress people with essays.
